DESCRIPTION

Tate on Howe street is a mixed-use development with a 41-storey residential tower developed byBonds Group development and designed by Merrick Architects.

While the proposal results in the loss of 11 Single Room Accommodation (SRA) designated rooms, it results in two positive housing benefits: the provision of 20 secured market rental units and a contribution of $750,000 to the Affordable Housing Fund, which speak to the City's housing objectives.

Furthermore, the approval of this rezoning would deliver a cultural amenity, in the form of artist studio space, in response to Council policies to support Vancouver artists and the creative economy.

In addition, a transfer of heritage density to the site contributes to the reduction of the "heritage bank".
